Phelps Hospice at Bethel

Bethel has partnered with Phelps Hospice to provide an eight-bed Inpatient Hospice Unit, the first of its kind in Westchester County.

At a time when choices seem few and challenges seem many, Phelps Hospice at Bethel works side-by-side with patients and families to provide an alternative to repeated hospitalizations by offering an array of quality services, resources and caring support.

Hospice care is a promise to terminally ill patients and their families. A promise to affirm the power of choice and quality of life in every way possible.

Phelps Hospice at Bethel offers gentle care and maximum comfort in a tranquil setting — catering exclusively to the needs of Hospice patients and their families as they cope with end of life issues. Working closely with the Interdisciplinary Team from Phelps, Bethel staff offer hands-on care, twenty-four hours a day. Together, they focus on creating an environment of understanding among patients, families and caregivers — enhancing the patient’s quality of life in every way.

Privacy & Comfort In A Bucolic Setting

Phelps Hospice at Bethel is a dedicated unit at Bethel’s Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Ossining, NY. Located in a residential neighborhood, amid beautiful homes and landscaped properties, the Ossining campus provides a bucolic setting with towering pines and groomed lawns. A separate exterior entrance and elevator provide privacy and easy access for patients and their families.

Professionally designed and decorated patient rooms feature a distinctive home-style décor that includes soothing colors, soft lighting, contemplative artwork, sound-absorbing carpets, comfortable sofas and chairs, and hospital beds that have the look and feel of conventional beds.

For The Family

Bethel’s Hospice unit includes a quiet, meditative space where family members can be alone, share private moments with loved ones or meet with facility staff to discuss a patient’s prognosis and treatment. Also included on the unit is a lounge where families can relax and be near their loved ones. It features amenities such as a TV, DVD player, and toys for children. In addition, a kitchen unit is available where family members can store and heat food for their loved one.
