As always, Santa was the center of attention at Bethel’s 19th Annual Tree Lighting at The Pines in Ossining! Whether they were wide-eyed, talkative or not too sure about the man with the booming voice and red suit, each child was mesmerized and smiling as Santa greeted them with a hearty Ho! Ho! Ho! He made his way through the crowd, handing out candy canes to all the children while carols were being sung by those assembled around the tree.
The evening kicked off with Bethel’s CEO, Ms. Beth Goldstein welcoming everyone to the tree lighting and then introducing Mr. Robert Elliott, Chairman of Bethel’s Board of Directors, who also thanked people for attending and highlighted Bethel’s role in the community where it has been providing services for over 100 years. Rev. Kevan Hitch, also a member of Bethel’s Board of Directors, and pastor of the Valhalla United Methodist Church, offered a reflective narrative and convocation before Mr. Elliott lit the tree, an honored bestowed upon him having being elected Chairman of the Board, earlier this year.
Everyone was then invited inside for delicious hors d’oeuvres and drinks where they also had an opportunity to meet new people and spend time with friends.
